Once again some very thought provoking stuff here. It is always best to be honest, and telling people that this will not be an easy ride career is entirely appropriate. However, you have already highlighted the good things and how happy you are with your life in science. I think this subject and career is certainnly not for the feint hearted, but emphasis on the final rewards is always a good carrot for the aspiring scientist. You already do a great job of realistically explaining the career path, I don't think you need to do anything particilalry differently.

It is always interesting to hear about life as a scientist and you make the information interesting and accesible. I am glad you enjoyed helping someone else to take up the reigns of such a career.

Thanks again

Thank you for sharing these thoughts. You admirably combine a philosophical outlook with that fantastic scientific brain.
The other thing to remember is that when you are in deep water you need to become a diver- and you already are a diver!

Glad I convinced at least one person that Tardigrada are cute :-) Maybe you should start an accounting blog so I can learn about that!

Yep, that's definately an incredible invertebrate, and it's quite cute too!
Well done with the job, I can't tell you how very proud of you I am. I alway knew my little sister was an incredibly clever and wonderful person.
And thank you for bringing your world into my world, it's fascinating to learn about stuff I never knew about (I could even say it's more interesting than accounts)
Love Sally
